About NerdsTips

300+ free calculators and converters built by one developer who believes useful tools should be fast, private, and accessible to everyone.

Why I Built This

I am Peter, a developer who has spent years building web applications for clients and companies. Through that work, I kept running into the same frustration: finding a clean, fast calculator or converter for everyday tasks meant wading through cluttered sites stuffed with pop-ups, autoplay videos, and aggressive data collection.

In early 2026, I decided to solve that problem myself. I started with a single mortgage calculator built over a weekend. It was fast, had no ads, and did not ask for anything in return. When friends and colleagues started using it daily, I realized this was not just a side project. It was something people actually needed.

That one tool became two, then ten, then fifty. Today, NerdsTips hosts over 300 utilities spanning finance, health, math, science, productivity, and lifestyle. Every tool follows the same rules I set on day one: load instantly, work on any device, respect your privacy, and never hide features behind a paywall.

What I Believe

Speed Is a Feature

A calculator that takes three seconds to load is not useful. Every page on NerdsTips is statically generated and optimized to load in under a second.

Privacy by Default

Your calculations stay in your browser. I do not store your inputs, results, or personal data on any server. What you calculate is yours alone.

Accuracy Matters

Formulas are sourced from standards bodies like NIST, ISO, and BLS. Every tool is cross-checked against reference implementations before it goes live.

Access for Everyone

No registration, no paywalls, no geographic restrictions. Whether you are a student, professional, or just curious, every tool is free to use.

About Peter

I have been building things on the web for over a decade. My background spans full-stack development, system architecture, and product design. Before NerdsTips, I built applications for startups, e-commerce platforms, and content publishers. That experience taught me what users actually value: tools that work reliably without getting in the way.

NerdsTips is a solo project. I write the code, design the interfaces, verify the formulas, and respond to user feedback. There is no venture funding, no board of directors, and no growth-at-all-costs mandate. Every decision is driven by a single question: does this make the tools better for the people using them?

My ambition is to make NerdsTips the most trusted resource for everyday calculations and conversions on the internet. Not the biggest, not the most profitable — the most trusted. That means continuing to prioritize accuracy, speed, and privacy even as the platform grows.

How We Verify Accuracy

I take accuracy seriously. Every calculator is built from verified formulas, cross-checked against academic sources and industry standards. When I publish a tool, I document the underlying math and cite authoritative sources.
